About VESK
As of 2011, VESK Ltd. became the fastest growing provider of hosted virtual desktops (HVD) in the UK. VESK is the brain child of the successful, London-based IT support company Appiam who are renowned in the industry for their excellent levels of IT and customer support. The technical support team at Appiam were pushing cloud desktops from around 2004, but it was only when the desktop virtualisation technology become widespread and reliable enough in 2009 that HVD started to take off... Subsequently VESK was born. Since 2009, we have moved the majority of our Appiam IT support customers onto our VESK platform.
VESK is 100% privately owned, we have no shareholders to answer to and we have no loans or debt attached to the company. As of the first quarter 2010 VESK became profitable and since then our revenue has increased month on month, averaging around 12.5% growth each month.
Many cloud vendors are looking to "land grab" their clients, offering very low and potentially unsustainable prices. This tends to be part of a predisposed plan for an exit strategy.
VESK is different. Our core values are built on integrity and trust, we do not have an exit plan, our strategy is simply to grow something that we all love by building the largest, most redundant and secure virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) in Europe. It's an incredibly exciting time for the team at VESK, we've seen the company grow at an amazing rate, and it's not down to any one person but the collaboration of the technical and management team. We love being a small business and even though our staff numbers are increasing, we are and always will, maintain the innovation and intensity of a close knit winning team.
The founders of VESK came up with the idea back in 2000 when the Director setup his first Windows 2000 domain with Terminal Services and remote desktop.
"I immediately saw the benefits of remote desktop and knew this would be the way that computing would go. There are simply too many benefits to virtualisation and virtual desktops compared with traditional computing on a local desktop. Previously, poor Internet speeds and accessibility coupled with a lack of reliable software meant the time was not right for virtualisation But now, with widespread broadband, public wifi and 3G, the business world is ready to take full advantage of the huge benefits VESK offers."
