Thin clients
Thin Clients consume on average, 90% less power than traditional Personal Computers, or so called
FAT clients.
The reason being that Thin Clients do what they say on the tin, they are
thin, meaning they are
slimmed down versions of normal
fatter computers. They contain less physical resources, typicall they have less memory (RAM), less processing power (CPU) and less internal storage. They are also smaller in size.

So why go backwards ? Doesn't Moore's Law state that computers will
increase in power by 50% year after year ?
Thanks to cloud computing, heavy processing power is now carried out where it should be, on powerful servers in the datacentre rather than on client workstations. This greatly reduces the amount of resources required on client computers because the processing is carried out in the datacentre.
Virtual desktops are beginning to replace the traditional idea that all office staff must have a full PC sitting beneath their desks. Of course, in today's world businesses need their employees to have access to computers to communicate and to perform all manner of tasks. However, the way in which this can be facilitated is evolving.
VESK offer Thin Clients in partnership with:
- HP
- Wyse
- iGel
and can source these items at more preferential rates than normal business customers.
We can preinstall the VESK client directly onto your thin computers so they can connect directly to VESK once powered on.
