As of 2011, VESK Ltd. became the fastest growing provider of hosted virtual desktops (HVD) in the UK. VESK is the brain child of the successful, London-based IT support company Appiam who are renowned in the industry for their excellent levels of IT and customer support. The technical support team at Appiam were pushing cloud desktops since 2003, but it was only when desktop virtualisation technology became widespread and reliable enough in 2009 that HVD started to take off… Subsequently VESK was born.
VESK is 100% privately owned, we have no shareholders to answer to and we have no loans or debt attached to the company. Since mid 2010 VESK has operated as a profitable business and since then our revenue has increased month on month.
Many cloud vendors are looking to “land grab” their clients, offering very low and potentially unsustainable prices. This tends to be part of a predetermined plan for an exit strategy.
VESK is different. Our core values are built on integrity and trust, we do not have an exit plan, our strategy is simply to grow something that we all love by building the largest, most reliable and secure virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) in Europe. It’s an incredibly exciting time for the team at VESK, we’ve seen the company grow at a healthy rate, and it’s not down to any one person but the collaboration of the technical and management team. We love being a small business and even though our staff numbers are increasing, we are and always will, maintain the innovation and intensity of a close knit winning team.
The founders of VESK came up with the idea back in 2000 when the Director setup his first Windows 2000 domain with Terminal Services and remote desktop.”I immediately saw the benefits of remote desktop and knew this would be the way that computing would go. There are simply too many benefits to virtualisation and virtual desktops compared with traditional computing on a local desktop. Previously, poor Internet speeds and accessibility coupled with a lack of reliable software meant the time was not right for virtualisation but now, with widespread broadband, leased lines, public wifi and 3G, the business world is ready to take full advantage of the huge benefits VESK offers.”Modern business IT requirements are constantly evolving. Updating workstation PCs, servers, software, anti-virus, data back-up, IT support and disaster recovery can be costly and time consuming. In addition, growing workforce flexibility and the demand to access data at home or on the move requires increased security and reliability. Future-proofing IT infrastructure for the changing needs of any business; small, medium or large can prove a major challenge.
VESK’s vision is to provide businesses with a simple solution to all of their IT needs. Any business utilising the services of VESK should always expect to benefit from a service which is cost effective, accessible from anywhere and on any device, secure & reliable and simple to manage.
