New virtualisation software offers both performance and security

by Administrator 24. May 2010 19:06

A recent announcement has revealed that virtualisation companies not only offer more versatile IT accessing options but also increased security levels.

An expert in the field Andrew Buss, of Freeform Dynamics, said that the new technology allows businesses to address their security issues in new and more in-depth ways.

This means that by using the technology a company employee can access user-profiles from various locations and can still have faster recovery when the system has become compromised or infected by malicious software.

Mr Buss said, "One of the big security advantages of client-side virtualisation is the ability to effectively roll back systems that may be compromised by malware.

Standard images, that virtualisation can offer, have made this roll back process even easier because the software eliminates many of the earlier technical difficulties.

He added, “By running servers or applications centrally, not only is security much enhanced, but performance and reliability are too - all the while keeping data transfer to a minimum.

This should reassure those businesses that thought virtualisation would mean a lower level of security, as data could be accessed remotely by anyone. This new announcement seems to address these concerns.

Adrienne DiPrima, Manager of Strategic Technologies Technical Support, said that these new technologies addressed their security concerns and she even said, it “resolved our security and performance issues to a degree I never thought possible.

With these issues now solved, virtual desktops are set to become even more popular in the near future, with a lot of companies upgrading to the new technology.
