VESK Provide 300 Hosted Virtual Desktops to Leading UK Charity.
Crisis at Christmas is one of the UK’s largest volunteer events with around 8,000 volunteers, offering shelter and vital services to over 3,000 homeless people over the Christmas period.
Together with Aimar Foundation (a charity backed by Morgan Stanley), VESK provided 300 virtual desktops in 2014 and 260 virtual desktops in 2013 for Crisis volunteers to access the Crisis infrastructure, helping them to facilitate administration to create a memorable week for the most vulnerable in society. Virtual Desktop internet cafes were set up to allow guests to look for housing, create a CV and email friends and family.
Aimar and VESK provided 24/7 support during the entire operation, leading into the new year.
“This is by far Aimar’s largest and most complex initiative. It’s made possible due to the generosity of our technology partners and the volunteers who continue to donate their time and expertise over the festive period with huge enthusiasm.”
